The best friend a guy can have
This is my dog; her servants call her Molly. She is a year and a half old. She is a black lab from a chocolate father and a yellow mother. She has some yellow coming out in a brindle pattern on the ends of her legs going down to her feet. She is a natural swimmer, and a great flusher. She sees quail that I never knew where there.
She goes everywhere with me, sometimes when I leave her at home and she sees me walking out the door with a gun she gets upset, but not like my wife upset (which is a why is my husband up at 3 am type of upset) Molly's upset because she knows she's staying here. She's loyal and enthusiastic. I'm the kind of guy who enjoys going out with friends, but when no one is available, the dog makes for good company.
On several of our outings where we haven't shot anything, I'll take the dog to where I know there will be a jackrabbit, and let her find one to chase. She's pretty good at stirring them up. It is truly amazing to see a dog work with you to hunt. If I point where I want her to go, she goes that way. If I want her to come closer she obeys. When I say "Where's the birds" she gets excited and looks harder. When we're out in a field walking, she'll catch the scent of something and its nose to the ground, tracking down whatever it is, and usually its a bird or a rabbit. She works with me when bird hunting, and against me when hunting rabbits. She loves to put dead birds in her mouth but she hates the feathers that come off.
I couldn't ask for a better friend.
