We went down south of Tucson this year to blast away at some doves on opening day. One thing was made clearly manifest during this trip: Doves are hard to hit on the wing.
I've heard it said that the average guy uses 7 shells for each dove he gets, well I'm not going to mention my ratio because it was embarassing. We did have a great time, there were plenty of birds and we did bring home 7 of them. Pretty good for a bunch of amateurs considering everyone else we talked to only got 1.
I guess we'll keep going out and shooting away until the 1st season closes and wait for quail in October. Stay tuned...
